Model: Vicki Location: Lombard Sometimes I have really tough times at work and I look forward to coming home and spending time doing things I really love. Lately photography has been a wonderful outlet that lets me capture how I see the important people in my life. Thank you Vicki for always being a bright, smiling burst of positivity in my life. You are always an inspiration and I love when I get to spend some time with you. And thank you for always being a ready and willing model for me. This shot turned out magical and beautiful and has now become one of my very favorite shots I've taken. Stephy G

I FINALLY FIGURED OUT LIGHT PAINTING. These aren't particularly amazing but it was so fun and so satisfying and I cannot wait to do more with this. Stephy G 05.24.19
Model: Courtney Location: Wheaton This was somewhat spur of the moment, but I had a good time and got some cute shots of this one. She has the best laugh and the best smile! I tried out some retouching techniques with these edits (simple, nothing crazy) as well as some digital compositing (top left). Getting more comfortable taking my time and doing a little more editing and really picking and choosing what I concentrate on. I'm working on developing my rates for service at the moment and I have a few practice shoots planned over the next month, so we shall see what happens going forward! I'm really enjoying this process. Who knows? Maybe it will become something more to me down the line. Stephy G 05.11.19
Model: Rhea/Myself Yesterday, Rhea and I were playing around with my new portrait studio and color gel sheets. We had a lot of fun and before we knew it an hour and a half passed and we have over 300 photos haha. My friend Alex recently gave me some pointers as well as a tutorial in frequency separation. What is so cool about it? You can fix blemishes and uneven tones without hurting the texture of the skin. Now that I know the secret, I'm obsessed with it haha. Excited to play around more with the studio setup! Stephy G There have been an awful lot of cute bun buns running around my neighborhood recently. Just that time of year!
Mike and I noticed a bunny hanging out by our porch and I decided that was a great opportunity to pull out my new telephoto lens! This was taken from about 15 feet away, believe it or not. I love how it came out and I love that I can now take photos of animals and not disturb them. A friend also recommended I try the telephoto for portraits so I'll have to get on that too! I MUST GO TO A ZOO. Stephy G. I went to visit Emma this weekend and met her snake for the first time, appropriately named Nagini. I was playing around with my prime lens and Nagini slithered up my arm towards my tattoo and I freaked out (Sorted into Slytherin, what whaaaaat!)! The result turned out pretty cool!
What house are you? Stephy G Channeling my inner Brandon Woelfel with geometric subjects and fairy lights! Experimenting more with lights, shadows, texture etc... This month I have a commitment to myself to play with my DSLR daily and get more comfortable shooting various subjects from plants to people to pets to decor...
