Model: Colleen Location: Wheaton Today was a perfect example of how it is not a great idea to go into a session with zero ideas/winging it. I got some shots I like, but overall, I'm not as happy with the photos as I was last week downtown. The rainstorm threw me off, we couldn't go in any grass because mud....This was very hard haha. Note to self: Plan ahead and have someone as an assistant. Stephy G

Model: Colleen Location: Downtown Wheaton and surrounding area Colleen is super fun to photograph. She has BEAUTIFUL eyes, a bubbly and vibrant personality and a youthful look. I was driving home last night and got hit by the bug, so I texted her and asked if she would come over last minute. I think we got some good shots! My favorite is the featured black and white above. Spring is finally coming to Chicago and I'm dying to experiment with greens and florals in my portraits. I took advantage of the early blooms on white magnolias for a few of these photos and I'm glad I did. They added a nice, ethereal quality combined with the use of my prime lens. Stephy G Patches in the springtime! I love this shot of her enjoying the sunlight and rolling around on the ground. Never is she happier than when she's outside soaking up the sun...unless she's sitting on Daddy's chest while he games away.
What a diva. Stephy G Portraits I
Models: Mike & Dad Mike: January 2019; Wheaton Dad: March 2019; Crystal Lake In every form of media I have experimented in, friends and family have always been a source of inspiration for me. Funny how with photography you can literally use their image as the main part of the project. The above portraits are 2 of my favorite that I have taken. Mike. Bubbly, generous and kind, the life of the party, love of my life. He has the best smile and I'm so blessed to wake up to it every day. Dad. Quiet, serious and hard working. When the serious facade fades a warm, kind and loving teddy bear comes out. Stephy G 2.19.19
Model: Nikko So I met up with Nikko in February for drinks for his birthday at Chili's. Gotta have those margaritas y'all! On the way in, I saw the bright red Chili's neon sign outside and dragged Nikko over to the snow and asked if I could do a portrait experiment utilizing the light. I love how this one came out. One of my favorite things to do is soften blacks and give them blue tints, especially with neons/strong light sources at night. Makes me want to do more night time portrait photography! Model: Rhea Location: Downtown Wheaton and surrounding area I always have fun shooting this gorgeous specimen. Started editing with a filter in Lightroom called "Creative-Warm Shadows" as a base to add a little bit of a vintage vibe to the set while keeping it modern and bright. |
